Qualifiers |
Perenial top-sitter Jim Burns (J&B) won the Canadian Qualifiers this year, but graciously allowed 2nd place qualifier Robin Avery (Mr. Wiggly) to represent our fleet at RCYC, where he earned a respectable 15th. John Poglase (Yellow Tail) won the World Qualifier, and we can all enjoy following his campaign to Puerto Vallarta next year. |

Fifth Annual Christmas Curling Party. Nov 24 |
This is the annual curling tradition that Robb started so many years ago. We still have first-time curlers each year, but the rest of us seem to at least remember the basics enough to have a good game. And the secret stealing Santa continues to have a few zingers andÊbooze to boot. Thanks so much to the Fleckensteins for trusting us enough to let us loose on their club. What a gorgeous venue. Sheryl is all over them about better space for next year, and brooms at the beginning of the night :~} Almost all boats were there, but much missed was the top boat of the fleet and incidentally the winner of the 2006 Horny Helmet, J&B.Ê Congrats to Tom on being a Doctor of Philosophy; maybe it will help Jim wax philosophical about the humiliation of wearing the Horny Helmet on the first beat of the first fleet race of 2007. Fleck was the runner up for 1 -Êlosing the horny helmet, 2 -Êlosing his motor on the final race of the 2006 season. |
